WBE Mail Configuration

Here you can configure the system to send emails on behalf of the hotel.

By configuring your own domain, you ensure that all communications sent to your guests, such as booking confirmations, pre- and stay mail and more are branded with your hotel’s identity.

INFO

Option 1 (Recommended)

Use the same domain for both the From address and the main domain.
This setup improves domain alignment (SPF, DKIM) and may enhance deliverability, because it avoids relying on the reputation of a separate subdomain or TLD that may be used for marketing or bulk mail.
You can set a separate bounce address if you want auto-reply messages to go to a different destination.

Example:
From: info@hoteldomain.com
Domain: hoteldomain.com
Bounce Address: bounce@wbemail.hoteldomain.com

Option 2

Use a different domain for the From address than for the main domain.
Some email clients may display something like:

wbemail=hoteldomain.com@wbemail.hoteldomain.com on behalf of info@hoteldomain.com

This is a visual effect only and does not affect how the email technically behaves.
However, using a different subdomain may reduce authentication alignment slightly, meaning deliverability might not be as strong as Option 1.

Example:
From: info@hoteldomain.com
Domain: wbemail.hoteldomain.com

Option 3 (Risky)

Use the top-level domain (TLD).
If configured incorrectly, this can disrupt your normal email workflow.
When using the TLD, an MX record is not required, but the SPF record may need to be merged with the existing DNS entry.
Using the TLD for sending also means that the reputation of the main domain is shared with all other mail flows (including marketing), which may negatively affect deliverability if any other system send bulks of emails.

Example:
From: info@hoteldomain.com
Domain: hoteldomain.com (used directly as TLD)
